This website is focused on the two things that I want to do well in life: First, to be a great husband and second, to be a great dad. I have often wondered what or where I would be today if I was alone. Being a husband and father is the calling of my life and I want to do it well. Twenty years ago I had no idea what a godly marriage looked like. I was a follower of Christ, but I was also very immature and selfish. Yet God was faithful and He begin to do a work in my life that is still in process today. This website is a poor attempt to chronicle what some of those lessons were about. The pages on marriage are a condensed version of an essay that lays out God's expectation. I hope that if you stumble upon it that God will somehow use my feeble words to encourage you in your marriage and family adventure.
The page entitled Struggling well with Life is an ongoing conversation with my wife and children. For many years I have read a chapter of Proverbs each day, writing down my thoughts on napkins and scraps of paper. Well the paper notes are stacking up and I don't do a great job of saving them, but I would like to leave them for posterity sake. Read them for what they are; the ramblings of a husband and father that screws up way too much.
The author and his wife have been married for 20 years and together are parents to three children. They make their home in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada where they attend Rockpointe Church.
